Toyota continues to evolve the Tundra, its entry into the full-size pickup market. Topping the list is an all-new 4.6-liter V-8 engine, which produces 310 horsepower and 327 lb.-ft. of torque. The new engine joins the 5.7-liter V-8 and the 4.0-liter V-6. Engine availability varies among the Regular, Double Cab and CrewMax models and the Tundra and Limited grades. Toyota’s 5.7-liter V-8 was specifically designed for use in full-size pickups and delivers more power than before: 381 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque. Both V-8s are paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The 4.0-liter V-6 produces 236 horsepower and 266 lb.-ft. of torque and is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. The Auto-LSD helps provide better acceleration in sand, mud and mixed surfaces. Auto-LSD and stability control are standard on all models. Stability control integrates traction control, enhancing on or off-road grip. Drivers can switch between normal, traction control off and stability control off to deal with various driving conditions.
